The following is a list up upcoming events for November:
The Thanksgiving Basket Brigade will begin collecting donations for its Thanksgiving baskets at Keller Williams, 11515 Burnham Drive in Gig Harbor. For more information, call David Cathers at 253-265-6362.
The Gig Harbor Morning Rotary will host Burt Talcott at 7 a.m. Nov. 6 at Cottesmore of Life Care Center, 2909 14th Ave. NW in Gig Harbor.
The Friends of the Gig Harbor/Peninsula Library will sponsor “Super Smash Brothers,” a free teen video game tournament, at noon Nov. 7 at the Gig Harbor/Peninsula branch of the Pierce County Library System, 4424 Point Fosdick Drive NW. For more information, visit www.piercecountylibrary.org.
The Gig Harbor Community garden will host a volunteer work party on Nov. 7-8 at Wilkinson Farm Park. Bread, warm cider and homemade soup from vegetables harvested from the garden will be served.
The Fox Island Community and Recreation Association will host its Fox Island Indoor Market from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 7 at Nichols Community Center, 690 9th Ave. on Fox Island. Gruber Chiropratics will host a grand opening of its new office from 3 to 5 p.m. Nov. 7 at 6506 Wollochet Drive NW, Building B, at Mallards Landing 2 in Gig Harbor. The event will feature free massage therapy, specials for new and existing patients, appetizers, refreshments and a magician. Visitors can sign up to win a seven-day Alaska Cruise. Lighthouse Christian School will host “Taking Command of Your Finances — a course designed to help families with budgeting, investing and planning for their future,” from 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at 3008 36th St. NW in Gig Harbor. Lunch, refreshments and course materials will be included. The cost is $45 per person or $50 per couple. Registration and payment must be received before the event.
