Don't let the Republican propaganda fool you - the American Legislative Exchange Council is technically "non-partisan" only because their membership contains a handful of conservative Democrats. They are a clearinghouse for right-wing ideas sponsored by conservative think-tanks, politicians, and corporations.

You can even see it when you read between the lines of this news story: Rep. Jan Angel (R-Port Orchard) is appointed, replacing Rep. Dan Roach (R-Bonny Lake). The announcement comes from Sen. Don Benton (R-Vancouver).

If this organization is so "non-partisan," then why do they even mention political party? If it's really "non-partisan," where are the Democrats?

SCLARK is right - this is a job for a seat-warmer. Expect Jan to use it to pad her resume when she runs for re-election this year.

Jan Angel should be perfect at this. She doesn't have to do anything, write anything, or produce anything - much like her term in the State Legislature.

Debbie,Ken,Dani and Steph, I'm so sorry for your loss. I've seen all that you have accomplished since your opening and the landmark you have become. I have many fond memories experienced there. I hope that if it is in your interest to rebuild that something good will come out of it and continue to be a wonderful place to relax in a busy world. Ken Jones

They transformed the place into a great rest/diner style. However, I have attempted to eat their a few times. Attempted because we once sat at the counter in front of 3 different staff members and were not waited upon even though we tried to get their attention politely. The first time we waited 20 minutes and we just finally left. We had two other tries since that first experience we waited 10 minutes.

Guns dont accidently go of, its call a neglegent discharge.....meaning someone did something stupid, the only way they go off is if someone pulls the trigger, either on purpose or neglegently.

Apparently, Rep. Seaquist isn't familiar with issue. Regaining the right to vote isn't something that a felon gains simply upon completion of their prison sentence. They must petition to regain that right. Many don't. And because of the large disparity of blacks and other minorites in our legal system, this has meant that blacks are disproportionately prevented from voting. I'm not arguing for the court's decision, I'm just saying it's not as easy to regain the voting right as the representative seems to believe.

Why would a panel on animal issues include someone who doesn't even own an animal? That makes no sense to me.
